If LWE’s 73rd podcast taught us anything, it’s that Jon McMillion seems is a very prolific producer. His mix for us was made entirely of new original material composed for the occasion, further elaborating on the effusive and wildly creative debut album that initially grabbed our attention. So it was a pleasant treat, if not a surprise, to receive two more unreleased tracks from McMillion to be given away. “Never Knew” is a potent blend of soulful vocal phrases, expressive piano chords and smart guitar licks, all buttressed by McMillion’s synth pulse and slinky drum programming. More abstract and expansive, “Foggy Lady” sounds like McMillion in a jam session with Alan Abrahams (of Portable/Bodycode fame). Its darker mood is leavened by chipper synth progressions and tumbling vocal lines, altogether tied to jazz as much as techno. Our thanks to Jon for his continued generosity.

Foggy Lady! Thanks
Thanx Jon & LWE 4 the D/L’s….Jon got skills(nice).
Foggy Lady is huge! Both of these are really nice… more more more.
These tracks are really great. Caught Jon recently playing a live set with Carl Craig. Fantastic stuff, and that set from what I could tell was all unreleased material as well. Not many artists come correct like that.
Great stuff Jon! Thanks for properly representing Seattle!
