Yesterday I wrote up a New City preview for Kerri Chandler’s upcoming appearance at Chicago’s Green Dolphin Street, which required a bit of research on my part. I read that he uses lasers to build tunes during his sets but I had no idea how it worked until I popped his name into a YouTube search. The first 1:45 of the video is passable, but things take off after that when you see him literally hitting laser strings, firing off one of his signature chord progressions. I am impossibly psyched at the possibility that he’s bringing this rig with him (on top of seeing him in general). Check it out.
You know, I kinda did that once after I had ingested copious amounts of psychedlics.
At the time I was convinced that I was controlling the music though my friends later told me that I was just punching at lasers while making noises in a dark corner of the club.
WOW! how is this even possible? how does it all work? i think its the most fascinating thing ive seen in a long time.
ha, i was eager to see the laser strings too when i saw him last year, but they didn’t make an appereance.
holy house music. AMAZING!
