Fresh from his solo debut for Spectral Sound, Gadi Mizrahi again joined forces with Soul Clap, the Boston dynamic producer/DJ/blogger duo, to craft the second release for Mizrahi’s vinyl-only imprint, Double Standard Records. Apparently written during the same Miami recording sessions as their first EP, “Beautiful Thang” shakes up one part extra-dry high hats and snares, healthy pours of oily slap bass, and a dash of gauzy pads, garnished with vocal chunks running around its rim. Evoking the easygoing, near tropical surroundings it was created in, the tune gets rumps shaking with equal parts funk attitude and nuevo deep-house aesthetics that are familiar to the trio’s fans.
