When an artist produces an album, it’s not uncommon for there to be left-overs. Like that delicious slice of cold pizza re-heated the next morning, it’s not always because they weren’t up to scratch. Sometimes, there just isn’t room for anything else. In such spirit, we present this week’s exclusive download: Oskar Offermann’s delightfully-titled “The Pleasure Of Being Five Again.” Last Monday, the Frankfurter — who’s now based in Berlin — unleashed his debut album, Do Pilots Dream Of Flying?. Released via his own label, White, it saw the German drift into more melodic territory without sacrificing any of his usual house groove. “The Pleasure” follows on with this aesthetic, flocking a genial bass groove with warbling synths and soft, bamboo-like tocks. As the title implies, it’s both whimsical and naive. Even if we were five-years-old, we’d know how to say, “Thanks Oskar!” for this week’s exclusive download.
