For those wondering if they should make the journey to the MUTEK festival, the fine folks behind the annual gathering in Montreal may have a localized solution for you: The Avant_MUTEK events, which provide a first taste of the festivities to come, are arriving in cities around North America in the run up to the festival. Their line-ups encompass previous MUTEK favorites and fine local talent as well. As an official media partner of the MUTEK festival, here is LWE’s guide of the Avant_MUTEK events.

Dont see it listed, but Appleblim blew the doors off The Drake in Toronto Saturday night.
Yeah, we opted not to list that event since it had already happened.
Due to a delayed train, I missed out on Knowing Looks, but Bowly played an banging live set, and Appleblim brought the best of Bristol bass and funky. Nice chaps to boot as well. I will say though that it took some time for the sound engineers to find an acceptable level for Appleblim; there wasn’t a good bass/treble balance. Glad to see that there was an acceptable crowd enjoying some proper dubstep.
That Monolake live surround set looks positively mouth-watering.
